Watchmen

R – 162 Min – 2009

Check Out The Trailer

Starring Jackie Earle Haley as  Rorschach and Jefferey Dean Morgan as The Comedian, “Watchmen” is set in an alternate 1985 where former superheroes exist, and the murder of a colleague sends active vigilante Rorschach into his own sprawling investigation, uncovering something that could completely change the course of history as we know it.

Who watches the watchmen? Well this was my second attempt to watch it. And even this time I couldn’t get far past where I stopped the last time. This movie is so boring, and gritty. It’s not at all like a super hero movie that we’ve come to expect lately. And maybe that’s why a lot of people really liked it, but I could not get into it. And plus, the alternate Nixon’s nose was way too long. It looked really hokey.

Jackie Earle Haley is a great actor. There’s not many people who like him, but I do. He played my favorite character in the ill fated television series “Human Target”, and he also played a very creepy and malicious version of my favorite horror film villain, Freddy Krueger, in the 2010 remake of “Nightmare On Elm Street”. So him playing Rorschach was pretty good, he used the same voice in this film as he did playing Freddy pretty much. Other than him and the gorgeous Malin Akerman, the movie sucked.

Boring, and way too long for this type of movie, I give it a solid one and a half monkeys.
